1. Better understanding regional dynamics
AI in Occitanie: a mature ecosystem
The DREETS’ overview of AI revealed a dynamic ecosystem made up of committed companies, innovative start-ups and public initiatives. As a data agency in Paris, it is crucial to be open to these regions: they offer an ideal testing ground, concrete projects and a different approach to digital transformation. This type of assessment is valuable for any company wishing to broaden its perspective and better understand regional expectations in terms of artificial intelligence.
Useful monitoring for SMEs in the region
The Occitanie region promotes AI for practical uses, in line with the expectations of those working in the field. Inflow can learn from this: a more frugal approach, open source, participatory governance. It is an opportunity to compare, adapt and enrich its own practices. This ‘hands-on’ approach echoes our desire to adopt a more user-friendly, realistic stance that is less focused on technical demonstrations.
2. Feedback: between ambition and pragmatism
SNCF: a rigorous data strategy
The SNCF presented its data strategy: centralised governance, well-defined use cases, measurable ROI. For a data agency in Paris, this is an inspiring model. It reminds us that business-technical alignment is fundamental, as is the ability to deliver concrete results. This maturity in data project management should inspire us to structure our missions around measurable objectives and industrialised deployment.
Co-innovation with Iterop, Dassault Systèmes and Mistral
Another highlight was the feedback on collaborative AI projects. Co-construction, end-user involvement and gradual integration are levers for success. These testimonials remind us that as a data agency in Paris, we must avoid the trap of ‘above-ground’ AI: the best technology is useless if it does not meet a clearly expressed need.
AI in everyday operations
The speakers also showed that the most effective uses of AI are not necessarily the most spectacular. Logistics optimisation, predictive maintenance, decision support… These simple but concrete use cases are the ones that create the most value. This means staying in touch with business issues, with realistic solutions that have a strong operational impact.
3. Critical visions: realism and sovereignty
Luc Julia: the illusion of AI
The co-inventor of Siri gave an explosive keynote speech. He denounced the ‘illusion of AI’ and called for more realism and transparency. This critical discourse is beneficial: it invites us to build solutions that are explainable, useful and not overpromising. According to the Inflow team, we have a duty to adopt responsible communication and emphasise the real value of projects, beyond the media hype.
Lucie: open source and sovereign generative AI
Lucie, the 100% French and open source generative AI, embodies another path. It raises the question of technological sovereignty. The debates surrounding Lucie also remind us that choosing an AI model — proprietary or open source — is also a strategic choice. We must be able to support these discussions and recommend solutions that are aligned with our clients’ values and constraints.
4. Strategic impacts for a data agency in Paris
Thinking beyond the POC
The AI projects seen at La Mêlée show that value lies in deployment, not just in proof of concept. A data agency in Paris must support its clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, including adoption, training and governance. Too often, POCs are not followed up on due to a lack of clear strategy. Our mission is to anticipate this phase by structuring sustainable roadmaps.
Opening up to new territories
Regional roots are a strength. Forging links with local ecosystems (such as Occitanie) accelerates innovation and helps identify new partners. It also broadens our scope of action and positions us as an agency with national and even European reach.
Committing to ethical AI
The day’s discussions showed that responsible AI is no longer an option. Explainability, bias, carbon impact: these are all issues on which we must take a clear stance. At Inflow, we consider these commitments to be fundamental. As a data agency in Paris, we integrate them from the design stage of projects to ensure their robustness and social acceptability.
La Mêlée Numérique offered us a packed, informative and motivating day. For Inflow, it was a useful reminder to stay tuned in to the regions, question our practices and promote a more sustainable vision of AI. This immersion feeds into our strategic thinking and reinforces our ambition: to become an AI agency recognised for its ability to combine innovation, responsibility and regional roots.
